The wine is straw coloured with a fresh hue. It has honeyed floral scents along with apricots, peach and honey dew melon. The palate is roughly equivalent to that of a German spatlese (60g/L) but at present conceals much of its sweetness. It has an elegant structured palate and mouth-watering intensity with the flavours of Granny Smith apples, apricot and even citrus in an incredible salad of flavours as well as the typical mineral and talc in the background. This wine has the very low pH of 2.7, so expect an elegant transformation with time and a wine which may be very long-lived. Drink by itself on one of those perfect summer evenings or as an aperitif prior to dinner.
