Looking back at the original tasting notes in the 2011 Spring Release, the development of this wine is evident. The deep carmine colour has transitioned into a crimson spectrum with a ruby red edge The overt fruit and floral characters have been replaced with spices such as nutmeg and cloves. On further examination, we detected chocolate, coffee and even mocha. The fresh palate has opened up giving the wine more room and freedom to reveal its hidden secrets. The welcoming tannins are rounding off and presenting themselves with a non-hostile strength.
We still see ample time for this wine to soften and mature further in your cellar. However, we do think it is worhtwhile enjoying over the coming festive season.
